it is worthy to note.  The MEXT scholarship is competitive.   It requires good preparation . To succeed above the rest.  According to research, out of 100,000 international applicants, only a fragment of 9,000 succeed. Usually the cycle of the MEXT Japanese Government scholarship is announced in April.  Having knowledge of Japanese language and IELTS/TOEFL is not mandatory for this scholarship. An applicant who has Japanese  nationality at the time of application is not eligible.  If your degree is not in English, a notarized copy of translation in English is required.
